Procédure en cas d’observations de présence d’algues bleues

• Prendre une photo numérique ayant les caractéristiques suivantes:
  • Donner l’importance de la densité de l’éclosion. (purée verte en surface)
  • Témoigner de l’étendue sur le lac de l’éclosion avec un point de repère pour fin de comparaison.
• Communiquer avec la municipalité de la Conception, Mme France Granger et lui transmettre les photos (819-686-3016 poste 229. (fgranger@municipalité.laconception.qc.ca)
  • La municipalité évaluera la situation.
  • En cas de situation préoccupante, la municipalité transmettra le dossier au Ministère de l’environnement pour la prise en charge du dossier.
• Communiquer les informations au comité sur la qualité de l’eau. En mettant en copie Jacques Noël De Tilly (jndetilly@hotmail.ca) et Marie-Joelle Crépeau (marie.joelle@hotmail.com )
  • Le comité fera le suivi avec la municipalité.
• Rappel:
  • Il est plus prudent en cas d'apparition de fleurs d’eau de ne pas consommer l’eau tant pour boire que pour cuisiner.
  • Faire bouillir l’eau peut augmenter les toxines.
  • Le ministère de l'environnement dans son document "Recommendations générales en présence d'une fleur d'eau d'algues bleue-vert", nous indique aussi que les activités peuvent être reprises 24 heures après la disparition de la fleur d’eau.

Procedures to follow when a suspected algae bloom is spotted

• Take a digital photograph of the bloom ensuring it has the following characteristics:
  • That is shows the density/thickness of the bloom
  • That is shows the size of the bloom on the lake, using a reference point for comparison
• Contact France Granger of the municipality of La Conception with your concerns and provide a copy of the photograph(s). Ms. Granger can be reached at 819 686 3016, ext. 229, or fgranger@municipalite.laconception.qc.ca.
  • The municipality will evaluate the situation
  • If the situation is deemed sufficiently concerning, the municipality will transfer the file to the Ministry of the Environment for further investigation
• Alert the lake Corporation’s Water Quality Committee by contacting Jacques Noël de Tilly (jndetilly@hotmail.ca) and Marie-Joelle Crépeau (marie-joelle@hotmail.com)
  • The Committee will follow-up with the municipality
• As a reminder:
  • When an algae bloom appears, it is recommended to not drink or cook with the water from the lake.
  • Boiling the water can increase the level of toxins
  • According to the Ministry of the Environment documentation, after 24 hours of the disappearence of a bloom, normal activities can resume.
